Qualities That Writers Should Require

Set yourself a programme each day of the work you intend to do and do not be satisfied until you have done it. You know that you have to sit down at such and such a time and that you are going to produce a set number of words for an article, story, book or script. In short, it comes down to exercising the self-discipline.

Patience, too, is a very useful quality. It enables a writer to cope with the often long delays in editorial offices. Editors and publishers’s readers are busy people who may have a pile of typescripts on their desks awaiting decision and this is happening normally on print media.

Another quality you need is resilience. That is the ability to bounce back after a cherished piece of work has been declined by an editor. There is no point in sulking or flying into a rage. It will not make your writing better nor will it make acceptance any more probale. The only permanent effect such reactions are likely to have is on your blood pressure!

Confidence is also valuable. No writer is an expert in all fields of writing. Each has to find his own niche – just as you have to. By the time you have finished the course you should know where your strengths and weaknesses lie. You can concentrate on your strengths and inclinations and your confidence will then be sky-high.

Wikinut, Triond and ExpertsColumn are all admirable publishing sites. It is really hard to distinguish the differences about them. And maybe most online writers would ask - How the three publishing sites differ from one another? What method should be used to spot their differences?

Here I applied some keywords and tags. They are representing the same 23 articles or columns that I have published at Triond, Wikinut and ExpertsColumn. And through them I aptly had determined how effectively those publishing sites supported their writers in the manner of attracting views and promoting their writers’ stuff across the net like:

While my ExpertsColumn pages received a total of 1,402 views. Of course, I used the same method on sharing those 23 articles published at Triond, Wikinut and ExpertsColumn across the net. But Triond has the least recorded views among them.

Earlier this month I received payment from Triond for February amounting to 66 dollars cents. At Wikinut I also received payment from December 8 to March 7, 2012 (3 mos) amounting to 3.02 Sterling pounds. And from ExpertsColumn I received payment from June 1, 2011 to March 18, 2012 on March 20, 2012 amounting to 5 dollars.

Summing up the total views from those sites from the date I began writing with them – my ExpertsColumn pages received a total of 2,101 views from June 1, 2011 to March 20, 2012. My Triond pages received a total of 30,931 views so far from August 17, 2010 to March 20, 2012. While my Wikinut pages received a total of 230,785 views from July 28, 2010 to March 20, 2012. 

Despite diverse feedbacks we read about those sites, still, they are all standing robustly as strong bridges for our ideas and our inspiring thoughts to pass by for the thousands or for the million net users across the Internet. They are serving as virtual worlds where to share of our alluring dreams and our exciting emotions. And sometimes the focal points of friendships among writers.

If Children Ruled The World There Will Be No Heinous Crimes

The world would not become a den of several criminal crimes such as war, graft and corruption, terrorism, rebellion, cheating, drug addiction, rape, smuggling, kidnapping, sex slavery and prostitution, child abuse, spousal abuse and other heinous crimes.

There will be no impeachment trials of presidents, chief justices of supreme court like what is happening now in the Philippines. There will be no martial law to be imposed to a certain country as there will be no rebellion acts against any governments. There will be no demonstrations and rallies to check the wrong doings of government officials.

However, we should know also that kids can be much crueler than adults. The world would be like a big trash pile because children don’t put anything away. The world would become messier and full of lost things. And the rate of development would be slower because children want something just for fun and are apt to ignore something related to world development.

The world would experience more humorous trial and error because children don’t think as carefully as adults do. Children might ignore adults also because adults don’t have power. Adults would feel lonely and some of them might try to commit suicide due to their situation.

And the world would be a disaster unless an adult were behind every child. If the children were in the congress and senate they would talk just about funny things and they would play all the time.

If they were bank directors they would spend all the money on games, candies or parties. Adults would have to work not to receive money but toys, candies and chocolate. Most school classes would disappear. The world would become rough and wild. And no one would like to be adults and parents would feel very sad!

Private Recruitment Agencies in The Kingdom

These agencies work according to specific rules such as:

• They are not allowed to take any fees from the worker for intermediate recruitment. Moreover, these agencies collect their fees from employers who requested them to participate in recruiting workers from abroad. Such dealings are agreed upon between the two parties (the authorized agency and the employer).

• In case any Saudi private recruitment agency requires to be paid any amounts of money from any workers as fees for recruitment, the worker should report this to the nearest labor office in the Kingdom in order to take necessary procedures towards the owner of such agency. These procedures are being made because the recruitment agency is not permitted to charge any fees from workers in accordance with the provisions of the Saudi Labor Law, decisions and provisions regulating the work of the private recruitment agencies.

• Private recruitment agencies may recruit workers for their own private work and under their supervision for the purpose of providing interested employers with labors (Labor Services) for limited time period according to regulating provisions for these services, provided that such labors supplied by private recruitment agencies are only male workers. This does not apply to the provision of female workers.

There are restrictions for providing labor services. The most important of these restrictions are:

• Providing appropriate accommodation for workers.

• The signed contract between the recruited worker and the recruitment agency must state that the agency has the right to assign the worker under its supervision to provide labor services for employers interested in such tasks.

• Complying with all obligations imposed by Saudi Labor Law, Social Insurance Law, implementing regulations and decisions issued for the application of such two laws.

• Provision of labor services should be supplied in adequate wages.

When to Terminate The Work Contract

In Saudi Arabia, the work contract signed by the worker and the employer is terminated if the said contract specified period has ended. Likewise if both parties agreed to terminate the contract provided that the worker approval should be in writing.

To terminate a contract - it must meet the following reasons such as:

• The employer and the worker may terminate the work contract which do not has a specified period, due to a legitimate reason after notifying the other party in writing (30) thirty days before termination.

• The worker should not be dismissed from work without a justified reason. In case the worker was dismissed without a justified reason, he/she may approach the concerned labor office within two weeks of termination.

• When the worker contract ends, the next presumed step is for the worker to return to his/her country after receiving all entitlements. If the employer did not commit to deliver all the workers entitlements, the worker should report this to any labor office located all over the Kingdom.

The instructions state that any worker can not obtain a travel visa unless the employer submits a proof that the worker had received all his/her entitlements.

However, the employer may dismiss the worker without a prior notice in any of the following cases:

• The worker impersonate a fake personality or a nationality, or had submitted false certificate or documents.

• If the worker was under the probational period or prior to the end of the probational period.

• If the worker intentionally or negligently made a mistake in which a sizable financial loss inflected on part of the employer, provided that the employer reports this to the concerned agencies within (24) hours as of the time the employer knew about such mistake or neglect.

• If the worker violates the instructions of work safety or place of work.

• If the worker did not care for the main duties on his/her part according to the work contract.

• If the worker was legally convicted or sentenced by a court for a moral crime or an offence that affects honor, trust or morals.

• If the worker discloses any secrets of the establishment in which he/she works.

• If the worker assaults the employer or the responsible manager during working hours.

• If the worker was absent without a justified reason for more than (20) twenty non-consecutive days or (10) days consecutive days during one year.
